What Mahj-On collects and why.
Your name, the contact detail you signed in with (an email address or a phone number), an optional zip code so we can show games near you, and the games and groups you take part in. That is what the app needs to work.
Also what you write and send: messages to other players, and any pictures you add to a game, a group or a message. We hold them so the people you sent them to can read them.
Games are found by zip code, and a zip is all a game or a group ever carries. If you tap Use my location the app asks your phone for your position and turns it into a zip - we keep the zip, not the position, and never track you in the background. Your phone can refuse, and everything still works: type a town or a zip instead.
To show you games and players nearby, to let people you invite recognise you, and to email or notify you about your own games and the people you follow. You control which notifications reach you, and every email has a one-click unsubscribe. We do not sell your data or send bulk marketing.
If you give us a phone number we text you a one-time code to confirm it is yours, and use the number so invitations from people who know it can reach you. Phone numbers are never sold, and never shared with third parties for marketing. Reply STOP to any message to stop them.
We use Amazon Web Services to run the service and to send our email and text messages, and Apple to deliver notifications to your phone. They handle it to do that job for us and for nothing else. We do not sell your data, share it for advertising, or track you across other apps.
While your account is open. Sign-in codes and links last minutes and are then dead.
Deleting your account removes your email address, your phone number, your picture and your sign-in credentials, and replaces your name everywhere it appeared. Games you hosted are called off and seats you held are given up. What stays is what other people would still be looking at - a game somebody else hosted, a message in their thread - now from a former player, with nothing on it that says who. It cannot be undone and there is no way back into the account.
You can change your notification settings or delete your account from inside the app. You can ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or remove it, by email. To reach a person, email info@play-on.info.
Mahj-On is not for children. You need to be 13 or older to have an account, and we do not knowingly collect anything from anybody younger.
